Hi!

I am Pier Angeli Banaag Ang Sen. I am “The Soapbox Filipina”. I am mommy Pier and mommy Anj. I am a home maker. I love to read, cook and bake. I dabble into art.

I was named after the Hollywood actress from the fifties.

I am a mompreneur. I am a mom who sometimes take coffee breaks from mommy duties. In between sips, I write valuable life experiences.

I started blogging around 2007. Three years ago, I took time out from blogging and concentrated on my dried fish online store after my husband’s spinal operation failed and left him paralyzed.

Even before the pandemic, we were already living our “new normal”.

I have a son Rafa, who is now a teenager. He is currently enrolled in the premiere science high school in the country.

My father is a public servant while my mother used to be a radio announcer. They both influenced my deep love for my country. I am the eldest child in a family of eight children. It shaped my character the most.

I grew up in a simple and rural barangay situated near the river -in a city in Mindanao. I am your proverbial probinsyana who went to Manila to study in the state university.

I love everything beautiful and simple about my country.I love my dipper or tabo just as I love being part of my super extended family. I love adobo and the color yellow and light blue- as sure as the sun and the sky above.

Through my writings, I would like to inspire people to love their families fiercely -while having a profound sense of loyalty to the country.

Even as a child I have always kept a journal. And writing was my loudest voice; my journal was my soapbox.

Welcome to my blog!

    Hi Angeli,

I always enjoyed reading your blogs and insights to everything in life. The funny thing is that I am also the eldest child with 8 siblings so I knew how hard it is to make ends meet during those times but it was still the best formative years of my life, also I am married to a chinoy husband and we also share the same last name from my hubby. More power to your endeavors and god Bless you and your family.

Being the eldest in a big family does give us character and our childhood remain the best times of our lives despite the struggle, don’t you think?
