Center for Pop Music: Bringing Out The Star in Our Son

Our seven-year old son can carry a tune.

Well, he can sing. He sings with the videoke. He sings while playing. He sings while doodling.

One of his first reading materials was a song book. Our son’s interest in music, goes beyond having his own set of playlists, in our spotify account.

He is genuinely interested in the names of the singers, the lives of the singers, their albums and even the years that the albums were launched.

I, on the other hand, am not musically inclined. My son’s singing talent is something inherited from the dad.

(Though my husband insists says that my son inherited my speaking voice: clear and easily understood. So, thank you for that. I could at least say, I contributed to one tenth -of whatever his voice may bring him, in the future )

This summer, our son was enrolled with Center for Pop Music, North Edsa. The program that we availed for our son ,was the STARBORNE VOICE AND STAGE PERFORMANCE for starters. It is a premium package that includes: 12 sessions / 1hour and 45 minutes per session

After a few classes with his coaches, our son’s performance improved.

Center for Pop Music specializes in Voice and Stage Performance Development while utilizing a unique pop singing curriculum. More than developing singing talents, the center also places great importance in improving the confidence of their students.

My husband and I are happy with what Center for Pop Music did for our child. We thank his coaches, Coach Chelle and Coach Jaycee of the Center for Pop Music -North Edsa branch, for patiently training our child.

The students of Center for Pop Music are trained by their coaches for twelve sessions after which they prepare for a practicum and a recital concert.

THE PRACTICUM

at Padi’s Point in Cubao, Quezon City

During the practicum, the students sang solo, on a stage -in front of an audience while coaches from the other branches gave them tips on how they can improve, as performers.

After their practicum, they prepared for their recital concert, next. This was held in another venue. The recital concert is the culminating activity of their summer class.

They did not only sing and dance, solo during the concert. They also performed with a group. This time they faced a much bigger audience.

My son still has stage fright. He still does not move like a total performer.

But my husband and I are thankful that Center for Pop Music brought our son’s confidence level, a notch higher.

We are very proud of our son’s accomplishment as a singer and as a seven-year old who bravely faced an audience just like that. (something my husband and I could not do, even at our age)
