My husband, my child and I visited Dream Play. The place is so huge. The four hours that we spent there, were not enough. It is a wide play area, surrounded with giant slides and larger-than-life play houses.
Hanging bridges, ladders and staircases connect one area to another.
In addition to that, different activities for children abound at Dream Play. Grown ups like my husband and myself enjoyed too. It was a family affair for us!
What’s at Dream Play?
Dream Play is a huge indoor theme park at the City of Dreams, Manila.
Dream Play showcases recreational activities created for DreamWorks Animation while featuring well-loved animated movies like:
- KUNG FU PANDA
- SHREK
- HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON
- MADAGASCAR
- DINOTRUX
1. KUNG FU PANDA
–“FAST AS LIGHTNING KUNG FU FIGHTING”
Through an interactive screen, my son mimicked Po -as he trained for Kung Fu Master skills- at the Furious 6 Academy.
I, of course, was a mere spectator. I was saving up my strength for other activities, especially the wall climbing part.
“WALL OF DESTINY”
My son and I went wall climbing on The Wall of Destiny. It was my greatest attempt at wall climbing, since I was able to get to the top and ring the bell. (mommy muscle at work)
We enjoyed The Leap of Faith activity.
Equipped with safety gear, we went up high a plank and jumped towards “the heavy bag” ( as in boxing, for my lack of exact term).
(by the way The Dream Shop rents out climbing shoes and socks)
2. SHREK
SHREK’S SWAMP
Shrek’s swamp stomp has tunnels, corners and crawl spaces. I took it as the jungle gym area in Dream Play.
The area was too confusing for me though that I had to get down and sit on a bench nearby. I just watched my son explore the area on his own.
-“GINGY’S KITCHEN”
At Gingy’s Kitchen, a pastry chef demonstrates to guests, the steps in baking cookies.
We were provided with our very own dough and icing.
We had fun kneading, baking and frosting our gingerbread cookies. We were able to take home the cookies we made.
3.HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON
My son had fun with this one, I think.
You see, after putting together a toy dragon using wooden parts, my son went up the high stairwell.
When he reached the top, he tied the wooden dragon on a zipline and released it downward. He then followed the flight of his toy dragon by running behind it, along the wide staircase.
4. MADAGASCAR
-“WHATEVER FLOATS YOUR BOAT”
My son did not only assemble his very own boat but he also got to sail it through a man-made river. He watched and maneuvered it, as it floated up stream.
5. DINOTRUX
It is the construction site setting of Dinotrux.
Through remote controls, the children could pilot dinotrux balls and navigate them at the construction site.
6.DREAMTALES LIBRARY
At the dreamtale library characters from DreamWorks Animation are brought to life through puppet storytelling.
7. DREAM THEATRE
Special episodes of the movies Madagascar and Kung Fu Panda, proved to be a fun virtual-reality movie experience for us.
At the dream theater, the audience was treated to a simulated real and imaginary environment.
Be prepared to see, hear, watch and feel the films you are watching.
