During my recent trip home to Cagayan de Oro City, I visited an interesting restaurant. The restaurant with its location, gives guests a unique experience –a panoramic view of the city.
My friends and classmates from Montessori de Oro, asked me to meet up with them, at High Ridge.
my grade school and highschool classmates at Montessori de Oro:
sitting (l-r) Gibby Tura-Chan, Alma Vacalarez-Toring, moi, Kizzy Factura-Kaamino and Charmaine Roa-David
standing (l-r) Hanz Manzano, Gibby’s husband -Mike Chan, my husband -Richard, and Louie Goyeneche
My family also went with me. We had dinner there.
High Ridge Restaurant is at Upper Macasandig in Cagayan de Oro City.
Their al fresco area is on a pay as you order service.
A fee of P100 per person is collected at the entrance. It is consumable on the food and drinks at the restaurant. (entrance fee for children below 12 years old is free)
Since getting there would mean having to go uphill, be prepared for a challenging pathway. The roadway to High Ridge is still rugged and unpaved. (something we were not actually prepared for)
High Ridge should be most accessible through private transportation.
In going up there, I guess, an SUV or AUV would be the convenient car to take. It was fortunate for us that my Dad drove a Bt50 truck and my sister, a Forester.
I sincerely hope that road development, in that area of the city, would happen soon, since High Ridge would be a good place to unwind and spend time with family and friends.
I must say, the best time to visit the place would be just right before sundown.
We went there during dinner time. It would have been nice if we came a bit earlier, so we could have seen the sun, setting over the city.
Should looking over the bright lights of the city be cathartic- if not therapeutic- to you, then drop by High Ridge Restaurant for that special view of the city.
Enjoying the view with a cup of coffee would have been perfect but I was not able to, since we had to leave early.
Though short, precious time spent with my classmates was all worth it.Thank you to my classmates for understanding. That is the nice thing about knowing people for so long, they would not judge you for your actions, they are just there to support you.
