The trip to the Mind Museum at the Fort, reminded me :
1. How little my knowledge is ,
2. How vast the universe is ,
3. How interesting my brain and body are, (!)
4. And how subatomic particles like the Whos of Whoville,
( yey, Dr. Seuss) do exist.
After watching a piece, about The Mind Museum , on television and reading about its opening in the Philippines, from blogs like
Our Awesome Planet,
http://www.ourawesomeplanet.com/awesome/2012/03/mind-museum-at-taguig-guide.html
plus having found out, that it was within the vicinity of my husband’s favorite shoe store, Titan and his friend’s family-owned, restaurant Paul Calvin’s Deli ,
my husband and I decided to visit the place during its opening last March 16, 2012.
BUT since we were not able to get tickets, for the timeslot we wanted and we also did not have our son, Rafa with us that time, we just got some flyers and decided to visit the place a week later.
I most definitely had a week, to prep up my four year old son, about the place we would be going to, the weekend after.
So I gave him a visual of sort , through :
http://www.themindmuseum.org/
and of what he was about to see.
It was a first for my son, since he has never been to exhibits of these kind.
And maybe because now, it seemed like he was ready to assimilate information like those he encountered at the Mind Museum.
( And boy, how ready was he.)
My husband : ” Rafa, these should how the first humans on earth look like.”
Rafa: ( perplexed ) …” So, where is Adam and Eve there Dad?”
( pause…)
Me: ” Hey, Rafa look over there, some more fossils….”
( Hehehehe )
We were bombarded with questions like:
” But Mom , sumakay din ba yung dinosaurs sa ark ni Noah?”
( ” But Mom, did the dinosaurs also ride The Ark of Noah?” )
Or
” Sino una ginawa ni God?
Yung dinosaurs ? si Adam? o si Eve?.”
( ” Who did God made first? the dinosaurs? or Adam? or Eve.?)
C’mon Adam and Eve give me a break!
You too Noah!
Same goes for you Dinosaur, your size does not intimidate me, you T-rex , you!
I AM A PARENT,
RAWR!
Or having entered the shadow box room , where a gadget takes your photo and the image of your shadow is imprinted on the wall, my son surmised,
” Hey mom , I know ( na ) , how Captain Hook captured Peter Pan’s Shadow. ”
Apparently, it was my husband and I , who were the ones not ready for The Mind Museum.
For how ever, are we going to teach him, the marraige and separation of science and religion.
It was quite an interactive museum, so my son had a great time freely pushing buttons here and there. ( his la la land )

My husband and I enjoyed too.
It was not only a refresher course for us, parents , but an experience we appreciated, through the eyes of the youngster in tow.
The Mind Museum is a museum for everyone and the three of us, enjoyed almost every nook and cranny of science.
