The Other Bag and the New Normal Essentials

A Must: The Other Bag and the New Normal Essentials

The new normal has forced upon us new habits. One of which is for us to be armed with the new normal essentials when leaving the house.

The checklist for these essentials however has gotten longer. So when we go out, some of us might either bring a bigger bag or an extra bag.

Stepping Outside with My Other Bag

I rarely step outside the house. But when I do, it would only be for errands that do not have online transactions, thus leaving me without an option.

When I go out, I place my essentials in another container or bag.

I find it convenient to have a different bag. It serves as a safety kit. It has with it the hygienic essentials -all in one place. I do not put them together with my cellphone, chargers, and wallet. This keeps them from contaminating each other.

I love this transparent bag I bought online. The brand is “Adventure”. (@₱219) It is a crossbody bag. It comes with a detachable strap.

It is easy to clean. I find using this bag time-saving because I can immediately see what I need.

Yes, a clear bag would mean not having to rifle through my bag as one does with tambiolo ( sorry, the figure of speech used is relatable only to my generation).

A Peek Inside My Other Bag

  1. Colorful disposable masks and a portable storage case

Nowadays when outside, we wear disposable masks like second skin. It is our first layer of protection. It can not only protect us but those around us, as well.

When disposable masks first became essentials, they were only available in limited colors.

It is nice to see that these masks now come in different colors.

I love these colorful disposable masks. I put them inside a portable storage case

I guess these bright-colored masks can be temporary distractions from the somber atmosphere outside, brought about by this new normal.

Plus, with the absence of smiles that used to be commonplace on the streets, a bright-colored mask is a welcoming sight, don’t you think so?

2. Rubbing alcohol

Nothing had been more important in this pandemic, than having to keep our hands clean, all the time.

That is emphasizing having to disinfect your hands now and then, especially after touching surfaces and objects.

Like most, I cannot leave the house without a bottle of rubbing alcohol in my bag.

I place my alcohol in a bright yellow dispenser with the sticker of my dried fish store ( a walking ad, you might say).

So when soap and water are not readily available, I have alcohol on hand ( pun intended).

3. Travel size disinfectant wet wipes

and spray

Long before stepping out into the new normal, I have always carried cleaning wipes especially when my son was just a little tot.

I usually use disinfectant wipes on surfaces like tables and doorknobs of places -like play areas and restaurants that we go to.

And to add to these wipes, I sometimes bring a spray bottle filled with disinfectant liquid (which I sometimes forget to refill).

Today, I am glad Lysol came up with this 1 oz disinfectant spray that can easily fit into my bag.

As the product detail at the back reads,

Lysol kills 99.9% of viruses” and that it is highly effective on “viruses and antibiotic-resistant bacteria including influenza virus H2N2, human coronavirus, strep, and staph “.

Lysol has been a trusted product so it is no surprise that both my disinfectant wipes and spray are from this brand.

 4. Other essentials:

          ballpen

          disposable gloves

          throat spray

          foldable eco bag

With the new normal, going out is not anymore what it used to be. You have to take extra precautions by always bringing your safety kit or in my case, my other bag.
